The
Rendezvous Grill and Tap Room
is SERIOUS about food.
Opened in 1995, the Rendezvous is a partnership between Chef Kathryn
Bliss and Hosts Tom and Susie Anderson. All longtime Hoodland area
residents, the trio recognized the need for a quality restaurant in the
growing but largely rural area.
With innovative food at reasonable prices, the Rendezvous has
actually become a destination for curious Portlanders and discerning
local diners. Chef/Co-owner Kathryn Bliss designs innovative, seasonal
menus using many local products, including chanterelle mushrooms and
huckleberries. The Rendezvous has developed a reputation for devastating
desserts, all prepared freshly in-house.
The Rendezvous has been featured in the Oregonian's
"Diner's Guide" for several years, and has been listed there as a
"Reader's Rave" and a "NW Hot Sport," as well as receiving a
mention in the April, 1999 Sunset.
The Grill Room is open for lunch and dinner starting
at 11:30 a.m. The Tap Room
opens at 2:30 p.m. and features small plates, light menus, and a full
bar. The Rendezvous is completely non-smoking, has a rotating wine
selection at great prices, and a classy comfortable look. It's the "top
stop" on the way to Mt. Hood.
